As a kid, I mostly used the web to play games. I particularly enjoyed the games on the American Girl website and eventually graduated to emailing my friends on Yahoo and spending far too much time on Stumbleupon.
I don't have much prior experience with web development, so in general I'm hoping to get a good grasp on the fundamentals. After these first couple weeks, I am thoroughly enjoying all of it so a personal goal of mine is to try my hand at creating "real" websites potentially for friends or family. Additionally, I may soon be in charge of my employer's website so I'd like to be well prepared especially as we consider updating it in the future. (They use a CMS but I'd still like to have a good idea of what's going on behind the scenes!)
